About 10 tons of hydrochloric acid leaked from a chemical plant in Buk-myeon, Jeongeup, Jeollabuk-do, around 8:30 a.m. today (19th).

No one was injured, and the fire authorities are controlling the entry and exit of the factory and removing it with adsorption cloth.

The Jeonbuk Environment Agency is also preventing further spread by installing a bank, believing that hydrochloric acid may have flowed to a nearby river, Janghakcheon Stream, through water and sewage pipes.

Fire and other related authorities believe that the accident occurred due to damage to the factory facilities and are trying to figure out the exact circumstances.
