Prosecutors demanded a life sentence for the director in his 30s who abused and killed a 4-year-old child at a taekwondo center.

On the 19th, the prosecution asked the court to sentence him to life imprisonment in the final trial of the murder of a Taekwondo director in his 30s at the 11th Criminal Department (Chief Judge Oh Chang-seop) hearing of the Uijeongbu District Court.

The prosecution explained the reason for the request, saying, "The defendant who runs the Taekwondo Hall continued to abuse the victim even though he was in a position to prevent child abuse crimes," adding, "We considered the fact that it caused a great social impact and committed a serious crime."

Earlier in July, A was a 4-year-old boy at a taekwondo center in Yangju, Gyeonggi-do, hitting Choi Do-ha on the head several times and leaving him upside down in a hole in the mat he had rolled up.

Doha, who was left unattended for 27 minutes, was taken to the hospital in a coma, but died of "hypoxic brain injury" 11 days after the incident. At that time, the bereaved family stopped life-sustaining treatment in consultation with the hospital in a situation where the possibility of recovery was slim.

The police restored CCTV in the Taekwondo studio where A tried to destroy evidence, and found that A abused Choi 140 times in the past.
