Science and technology experts selected 60 science news cases this year.

The Korea Federation of Science and Technology Organizations, Science and Technology Association, selected 60 Science and Technology News of the Year.

Based on research and development achievements and major issues made this year, the Science and Technology Federation said it selected 10 science and technology news and a total of 60 cases in six areas, including science, engineering, agriculture and fisheries, health care, comprehensive and science and technology policies.

The selected news included identifying the mechanism of oxygen delivery in fruit flies, developing Samsung Electronics' V-NAND, solving meiosis challenges, and opening the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

{ 과학}The Science and Technology News of the Year' began in 2005 to raise public interest in science and technology along with the meaning of settling the results and issues of science and technology research during the year.

Until 2022, the top 10 news were selected through a referendum, but since last year, the selection committee has changed the method of directly selecting news by sector and eliminated the referendum.

Regarding the selection process, Lee Tae-sik, chairman of the Science and Technology Federation, said, "The selection committee composed of experts in science and technology was selected after strict deliberation," adding, "We have no plans to revise it yet."
