Public officials who forged official documents for 'false selection of private investment business operators' were sentenced to prison.

A public official who had already lost his public office on bribery charges was sentenced to additional imprisonment by making official documents as if he were conducting a private investment project while in office.

The Chuncheon District Court sentenced A, in his 50s, to four months in prison on charges of writing and exercising false official documents.

The court did not arrest Mr. A in consideration of his sincere attendance at the trial, even though he said that the crime was bad by jeopardizing the credibility of the official document and that he was not seriously reflecting on the crime.

In 2019, A, a public official of Gangwon-do Provincial Government, is accused of falsely writing a certificate of the name of the Doji, saying, "Gangwon-do is in discussion with B, a private investment business."

However, the court judged that Chuncheon City, not Gangwon Province, was in charge of the project, and Chuncheon City had never selected Company B as a private investment business.
