"The forces that obstruct the investigation and trial of civil war will encourage confusion in state affairs."

Political circles are in conflict with the ruling party, suggesting the impeachment of Acting President Han Deok-soo, who is considering whether to promulgate the "Civil War Special Counsel Act."

The National Assembly is also holding confirmation hearings for candidates to fill the vacancy of the Constitutional Court, but the ruling party is not participating.

The opposition party is pressuring acting Han Deok-soo every day, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, the Democratic Party of Korea, which began emergency action today, demanding a rapid investigation into the president's arrest and an impeachment trial, decided to hold a general meeting of its lawmakers shortly.

He is pressuring Acting President Han Deok-soo to promulgate the Insurrection Special Prosecutor Act and the First Lady Special Prosecutor Act, which passed the National Assembly, and request a recommendation for a permanent special prosecutor, but he will also discuss accusing him of dereliction of duty.

Floor leader Park Chan-dae said he would not overlook the so-called "insurrection remnants"' time-dragging operations, and warned that he would immediately proceed with impeachment if Han did not promulgate the special prosecution law by tomorrow.

[Park Chan-dae / Minjoo Party floor leader: The delay in the investigation and impeachment proceedings is an extension of the civil war and an act of plotting a second civil war. The longer the civil war, the greater the national confusion and national damage will inevitably increase exponentially.]

The power of the people is sticking to the position that they cannot accept it, saying, "Why do we need a special prosecutor when investigative agencies are competitively investigating well?"

Acting party leader Kwon Sung-dong accused the Democratic Party of staging an "impeachment hostage" to stab at any time with a majority of seats if it does not do what it wants.

He argued that the impeachment of an acting president needs to go through procedures comparable to those of the president, not the prime minister, and that 200 votes in favor of the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol are needed.

[Kwon Seong-dong / Acting People's Power] No matter how much the Democratic Party interprets the constitutional impeachment process, I hope National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik and the Secretariat will take center stage in this regard. I will never be swayed by the impeachment politics of the Democrats who play with the Constitution and the Constitutional Court.]

In the midst of this, National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik also demanded that Han Deok-soo fulfill his legal obligations by today, saying it is difficult to understand that Han Deok-soo has not requested the recommendation of candidates for the permanent special prosecution for 10 days.

In the morning, the ruling party called the floor leaders of the ruling and opposition parties to urge the formation of a special committee for the parliamentary investigation of the martial law crisis, but the ruling party said it needs to discuss whether to participate in the parliamentary investigation.

The ruling and opposition parties agreed to hold an additional plenary session on the 26th and 31st, and on the 26th, they decided to hold the first national council meeting involving the representatives of the two major parties, the chairman of the National Assembly and the government.

The Constitutional Judge's hearing is also being held by the opposition alone, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, the confirmation hearing for candidate Ma Eun-hyuk recommended by the Democratic Party ended a while ago and the hearing for political candidates has just begun, but the ruling party, which has opposed the recruitment of constitutional judges, is not at the hearing room.

Instead, it issued a separate statement, calling for the Democratic Party's recommended candidates to be ideologically biased and inappropriate judges for judges to stop the selection process.

Acting President Han Deok-soo did not have the authority to appoint him, and the National Assembly, which passed the presidential impeachment bill, argued that it was wrong to recommend judges directly, but if the opposition party pushes ahead, it plans to ask the Constitutional Court for a competent dispute trial.

On the other hand, the Democratic Party plans to vote on the appointment as soon as the hearing process for the three candidates for the Constitutional Court ends until tomorrow.

Representative Lee Jae-myung shot back that the ruling party did not agree with the civil war by ignoring the process of appointing constitutional judges and sticking to the strategy of holding out.

In the National Assembly, the Public Administration and Security Committee was convened to find out the truth about the martial law, right?

[Reporter]
Yes, the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee, which is in charge of the police, continues to ask pending questions.

There are questions about whether the investigation is going well against officials from the National Investigation Headquarters investigating the emergency martial law incident, while questioning the background of the mobilization of police forces at the time.

Officials from the Central Election Commission, the agency in charge of the National Security Commission, also attended the meeting to emphasize the damage seen by the agency during martial law or the fictitious theory of fraudulent election conspiracy put forward by President Yoon Suk Yeol.

The People's Power recently pointed out that the NEC's decision to allow the posting of banners expressing the ruling party's lawmaker as "incompetents of civil war" and not allow banners criticizing Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung is biased.

In response, Kim Yong-bin, secretary-general of the National Election Commission, said, "It was a hasty decision," and that he would put it on hold for now, and announce the criteria for interpretation of the authority through an internal meeting in the afternoon.
