A big fire broke out tonight (23rd) at 9:50 p.m. in the direction of Mokpo near the Seopyeongtaek Interchange on the West Coast Expressway.
Fire authorities were dispatched after receiving a report that a 30,000-liter tank vehicle had caught fire when it crashed into the guardrail and fell.
No other casualties have been identified so far, but fire authorities are checking for damage to the tanker driver.
Considering the strong fire and the fact that many reports have been received, the fire authorities have issued the second stage of response to mobilize all personnel and equipment from nearby fire stations since around 10:20 p.m. to extinguish the fire.
The Korea Expressway Corporation asked for a detour to the national road as it blocked the entry of two-way vehicles on nearby roads through a safety notice.
