The U.S. House of Representatives' report has been released that there is evidence that Matt Gates, a former congressman who was nominated for the second Trump administration's justice minister and dropped out due to allegations of sexual misconduct, committed agenda rape against minors.
Politico, a political media outlet, obtained a House Ethics Committee report saying, "There is evidence that former lawmaker Gates violated regulations related to prostitution and sexual intercourse with minors."
In Florida, the legal age for consent to sexual intercourse is 18, and former congressman Gates had sex with a 17-year-old woman twice in Florida in 2017 when he was a sitting congressman.
The now 24-year-old woman told the committee that she had sex with Mr. Gates in the presence of other partygoers and received $400 in cash, which she understood was in return for sex.
The woman testified at the time that she had taken ecstasy, a drug, and that Gates also used cocaine that night.
