Air Force Major Jeong Si-hyung at this year's 'Top Gun'...First F-35A Selection

The Air Force said Major Jeong Si-hyung, an F-35A stealth pilot, had the highest performance in the aerial shooting competition, which ran from August to October.

Major Chung will receive 1,180 out of 1,200 points, and F-35A has been participating in only some events on a trial basis since 2021, and this is the first time that he has participated in all events.

Major Jung has been an F-15K pilot in the 11th Fighter Wing for six years since 2015 and is currently working in the 17th Fighter Wing after switching to the F-35A in 2020.

The Air Force added that six pilots, including F-15K Captain Ji Ho-min, KF-16 Captain Bae Joon-yeon, FA-50 Captain Kim Kyu-chul, F-16 Captain Kim Shin-kyu, F-5 Captain Ha Seung-tae and KA-1 Captain Moon Seung-hyun, will each receive the Defense Minister's Award for their best skills.
