Constitutional Court Receives Acting President Han Deok-soo's Impeachment

The Constitutional Court said that the impeachment of Prime Minister Han Deok-soo, who served as acting president, was filed at around 5:30 p.m. today (27th).

Earlier this afternoon, the National Assembly held a plenary session and passed the impeachment of the acting chairman led by the Democratic Party of Korea.

The acting president's duties were immediately suspended by the resolution of the impeachment motion, and the people protested, requesting a dispute trial to the Constitutional Court and requesting an injunction to suspend the effect.

People argue that it is unconstitutional for Prime Minister Han not to apply 200 impeachment quorum equivalent to the president even though he also holds the position of acting president.
