It's the first time in the constitutional history, and Prime Minister Han Deok-soo said he felt sorry for the next generation, regardless of his personal future.

Prime Minister Han Deok-soo, who was staying at the Government Complex in Seoul without an outside schedule, suspended his duties and retired as soon as the impeachment resolution was handed over to the National Assembly.

[Han Deok-soo / Prime Minister: I believe that my duties will be suspended, but the South Korean government will work solidly]

It also announced its position on the impeachment of the Prime Minister.

He reiterated existing principles regarding the suspension of the appointment of constitutional judges, one of the key reasons for impeachment.

He explained that no constitutional judge has been appointed without an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties so far, because the authority and responsibility are so heavy.

So he asked for a ruling-opposition agreement, but the opposition said it was the 29th impeachment this administration, leaving his personal position and feeling sorry for the next generation of the country.

At the same time, he said he respects the National Assembly's decision and added that he would wait for the Constitutional Court's prompt and wise decision.

A suspended prime minister is said to stay at the prime minister's official residence in the future and prepare for an impeachment trial and an investigation into the civil war.

Prime Minister Han Deok-soo, who was the 48th prime minister and the first prime minister of the Yoon Suk Yeol government for two years and eight months, was recorded as the first prime minister and acting president to be impeached.

It is also unprecedented for the president and the prime minister to be suspended at the same time due to impeachment, and under the Government Organization Act, Deputy Prime Minister for Economy and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok will be the acting president.

In the future, it is expected to communicate with both the President's Office and the Prime Minister's Office to seek stability in state affairs.
