A man who appears to be Asian is sitting with a resigned look on his face.

His thin face shows signs of exhaustion.

The photo was released by a Ukrainian military media outlet, saying that it appears that a North Korean soldier was captured for the first time.

According to reports, Ukrainian special forces captured enemy prisoners while operating in Kursk, including North Korean troops.

However, it did not clearly state whether the person in the picture was a North Korean soldier or what his condition was.

South Korea's National Intelligence Service also said it confirmed through allies' intelligence that a North Korean soldier was captured alive.

He then said the soldier was caught injured, adding that he would closely check the follow-up situation.

Earlier, the National Intelligence Service said that if the North Korean troops sent to the South request defection, they would respect their intentions and review them.

[Lee Sung-kwon/Ruling party secretary of National Assembly Intelligence Committee (October): NIS chief replied that (North Korean military) is one of the people in our territory under our constitution, so I think it is a situation that our country should accept both internationally and domestically.]

It is estimated that North Korea has sent more than 11,000 soldiers to Russia.

However, due to the open terrain of the Kursk region, it appears to struggle with Ukrainian drones, which could lead to more damage, capture or surrender in the future.
