In the diary of a North Korean soldier killed on the front line of Kursk, Russia, it was revealed that North Korea had dispatched a criminal.

Ukraine's Special Warfare Command released the diary of Jung Kyung-hong, a low-ranking North Korean soldier who died in the Kursk region of Russia on the 28th local time.

The diary says, "I was blessed with the opportunity to be promoted to the chief of the platoon, but I also abandoned the love of the party and committed ungrateful acts to the comrade of the supreme commander."

Jeong Kyung-hong continued, "I can't forgive sin, but my country gave me a new opportunity in life," and wrote, "If I win here and return to my country, I will petition to my mother's party."

Some analysts say that some of the soldiers sent by North Korea to Russia may have been former criminals who were promised pardons or commutations upon returning home.

Earlier on the 24th, the Ukrainian military released a handwritten letter in Korean, claiming that it was written by Jeong Kyung-hong.

The letter began with "Song Ji-myung, the friendliest comrade who left the arms of his loving father and mother and celebrated his birthday here in Rossiya land."
