2025.01.01 PM 03:51
The black box flight recorder of the Jeju Air accident passenger plane will be transferred to the United States because it is impossible to extract data in Korea.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said it has agreed to move the flight recorder to Washington, D.C. to analyze it with the cooperation of the U.S. Transportation Safety Board.

He also explained that he will depart for the United States as soon as the specific transfer schedule and our personnel to conduct joint work locally are set.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said the accident investigation committee has decided that it is more effective to analyze it in the U.S. after a technical review.

It also added that although the flight recorder was not significantly damaged in appearance, there was an expert opinion that there could be a problem with data preservation if opened recklessly during the connector repair process.

The voice recording device, which has completed file extraction, is expected to be converted into a voice file format from today and the results are expected the day after tomorrow.
