Police and firefighters are conducting a joint inspection at an eight-story commercial building near Yatap Station in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, where the fire broke out yesterday (3rd).

About 10 people, including the Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency's scientific investigation unit and fire department, began inspecting the snack bar on the first floor of the building, which is believed to have caught fire for the first time from 10 a.m. today (4th).

Police and firefighters believe the fire, which started while cooking food in the kitchen of the restaurant, spread through a ventilation device, and they plan to collect the appraisal at the scene and investigate the exact cause of the fire.

Around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, a fire broke out in an eight-story commercial building near Yatap Station, and 240 people were rescued and 70 people were evacuated, of which 35 people who inhaled smoke were taken to hospitals.
