Yangyang County Governor's arrest on charges of bribery and forced harassment... "Fear of destroying evidence."

Kim Jin-ha, governor of Yangyang County, Gangwon-do Province, who is accused of receiving money and harassment in exchange for resolving civil complaints, has been arrested.

Sokcho Branch of the Chuncheon District Court issued an arrest warrant for Governor Kim, saying there was a risk of destroying evidence.

Governor Kim is accused of receiving money and valuables from A in exchange for resolving civil complaints and forcibly harassing A at a cafe in Yangyang area in December 2023.

Mr. A was arrested on charges of bribing Governor Kim and threatening him with a video related to sexual harassment.

The arrest warrant for Park Bong-kyun, a member of the Yangyang County Council who is suspected of participating in the threat, was dismissed on the grounds that there was no fear of destroying evidence.
