Jeju Air has announced that it will cut 1,900 flights by March in connection with the safety controversy.
Jeju Air said in a briefing today that it will temporarily reduce operations as early as next week for domestic flights and the third week for international flights, and is conducting administrative procedures with aviation authorities.
The reduction will be centered on routes such as Japan, Vietnam, China and Hong Kong, where Jeju Air operates more than two flights a day.
Jeju Air's cancellation fee is reaching 260 billion won due to a series of cancellations right after the accident, and the company said there is no problem with liquidity because 260 billion won is not withdrawn at once and there are new reservations.
In addition, it added that safety of operations is a priority in the current situation, and a decrease in sales due to reduced flights is not a consideration.
