With the national mourning period over the Jeju Air plane disaster ending at midnight today (4th), the number of mourners at joint memorial altar in local governments nationwide exceeded 240,000.
The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters said that by yesterday (3rd), there were more than 246,000 mourners at 105 joint memorial alter across the country, including Muan Airport, Muan Sports Park, and Seoul City Hall's main building.
More than 52,000 people visited the memorial altar in Jeollanam-do, where Muan-gun belongs, and 25,000 people in Gwangju.
Most of the nation's joint memorial altar operations are until today, but 12 in Jeollanam-do and Gwangju and 19 in other regions will be extended after the mourning period.
