The National Security Office held a security situation inspection meeting with related agencies, including the Joint Chiefs of Staff, presided over by the second deputy chief In Seong-hwan, to share the North Korean missile situation and discuss future countermeasures.
The presidential office said in a notice that North Korea fired a ballistic missile believed to be an intermediate-range missile into the East Sea at around 12 p.m. today.
At the same time, the government emphasized that it will keep a close eye on North Korea's trends and maintain a full posture to respond to any provocations.
