South Chungcheong Province and Honam's west coast are expected to receive up to 30cm more of heavy snow by the day after tomorrow amid the heavy snow warning.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said cold air, which has an upper temperature of minus 40 degrees Celsius or less, flows inland through the West Sea and snows a lot mainly in Chungnam and Honam's west coast.
With more than 10cm of heavy snow already falling in the region, more heavy snow will fall to more than 30cm in Jeonbuk by the day after tomorrow, more than 20cm in the west coast of Chungcheongnam-do, Gwangju and Jeonnam, and 5 to 15cm in Chungcheongnam-do.
The cold wave is getting worse, and the morning temperature in Seoul is expected to drop to minus 5 degrees Celsius tomorrow and minus 11 degrees Celsius the day after tomorrow, and the wind chill is expected to decrease to around minus 20 degrees Celsius.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said the cold wave is expected to continue for a long time until the morning of the weekend, urging special attention to the prevention of accidents on freezing waves and icy roads.
