background
One manual treatment costs about 100,000 won.

In principle, manual treatment is originally non-benefit, so the patient should pay the full amount, but if there is real loss insurance, only 5,000 won or 30,000 won at most will be spent in the patient's pocket.

Because it is cheaper than the massage costs on the market, even non-severe patients are frequently treated.

Manual treatment accounted for 13% of non-benefit medical expenses in the first half of last year, and the amount of indemnity insurance is approaching 2 trillion won every year.

The government pulled out a knife to prevent such over-treatment.

First, we will designate the cost of manual treatment as the regular price, and even if there is real loss insurance, we will increase the out-of-pocket rate to 95%.

[Seo Nam-gyu / Head of the National Health Insurance Corporation's non-payment management department: If you receive manual treatment of 100,000 won, you pay 95,000 won and the corporation pays 5,000 won..]

In particular, if the patient is mild, the amount of money borne by the patient increases significantly.

We plan to link the out-of-pocket rate, which used to be different for each loss insurance, with the rate set by health insurance.

For example, currently, if you go to the emergency room with a mild illness, the Health Insurance Corporation pays 10% and the patient pays 90%.

The average cost is about 220,000 won, and if you are a 4th generation loss insurance subscriber, you only need to pay 44,000 won of this.

However, if it is linked to the health insurance ratio, the self-payment ratio of real loss insurance is also 90%, so the patient has to pay 198,000 won, which is 4.5 times more than now.

If the reform plan, which significantly increases the burden of non-benefit and mild patients, is confirmed, it will be applied to subscribers of real loss insurance that are newly released or renewed.
