The cold wave reached its peak this morning, with a "Hanpa Special Report" in effect in most parts of the country.

Strong snow is expected again on the west coast of Honam, where a lot of snow has already fallen, so caution is needed.

How is the current cold?

[Caster]
Yes, on my way to work this morning, the strongest cold wave reached its peak this winter.

I came out armed like this, but my body shrinks naturally in the bitter cold.

The current temperature in Seoul is minus 12 degrees Celsius, which is the lowest temperature this winter again in a day.

The wind is also somewhat strong, and the wind chill is lower than this.

Please bring a thick coat on your way to work and thermal supplies.

While cold wave warnings are being issued in most parts of the country,

The coldest place in the country is Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do,

It's an unofficial record, but it's plummeted to minus 24.9 degrees Celsius.

In addition, Daegwallyeong falls to minus 22.1 degrees Celsius and Paju to minus 18.3 degrees Celsius,

places are breaking new winter lows in a day.

Even in the middle of the day, it will be very cold with cold winds all day long, not as much as yesterday.

Today, daytime temperatures in Seoul are expected to be minus 2 degrees, Andong minus 1 degree, and Gwangju 0 degree.

A "heavy snow watch" is still being issued for the coast of Jeollanam-do and the mountains of Jeju in the cold wave.

After 1 to 5cm of snow continued on the west coast until morning, the snow briefly subsided during the day,

Between late afternoon and night, strong snow of about 1 to 3 cm per hour will be concentrated again around the west coast of Honam.

In North Jeolla Province, more than 30cm of snow has already fallen, but
By the day after tomorrow
, up to 20cm of snow will fall in the mountains of Jeju and up to 5 to 8cm on the west coast.

The cold wave is expected to continue until tomorrow morning, the weekend, and then gradually ease as temperatures rise from daytime.

Meanwhile, the East Coast region, where there is no news of snow rain, has a very dry atmosphere.

Please manage the embers thoroughly to prevent fire accidents such as forest fires.
