Medical groups and health care organizations all protested against the government's disclosure of the second implementation of medical reforms that strengthened non-payment management and reduced loss insurance coverage.
The Korean Medical Association argued that the Special Committee on Medical Reform, which should be suspended due to the suspension of the president's duties, is pushing ahead with a policy that only represents the interests of insurance companies, and that restrictions on non-payment activities subject to indemnity coverage will threaten the patient's right to health.
He also pointed out that the problem of excessive non-payment is a product design problem for insurers in the first place, and that the government's intention to control prices while ignoring private autonomy means that it will ignore decision-making.
The Federation of Health and Medical Organizations for the Realization of Health Rights also stressed that the government's announced non-payment management is only to maximize the profits of private insurance companies, and that the special committee on medical reform should be disbanded right now.
