[Weather] This morning, there was the lowest winter...the cold wind gradually wanes

2025.01.10 AM 11:19
This morning, Seoul renewed its lowest temperature this winter in one day.

However, as the wind intensity becomes weaker than yesterday, the cold you feel is less.

In the future, the temperature will gradually rise, and the temperature in Seoul will be minus 2 degrees Celsius in the middle of the day, about 6 degrees higher than yesterday.

The momentum of the cold has eased a little compared to yesterday, but it's still cold.

Please pay attention to keeping warm.

Amid a cold wave warning in most parts of the country, the coldest place in the country this morning was Pyeongchang Myeonon, Gangwon-do, which is an unofficial record, but plummeted to minus 24.9 degrees Celsius.

In addition, Cheorwon reached minus 20.6 degrees Celsius and Seoul 12.2 degrees Celsius, breaking the lowest temperature this winter in a single day.

However, during the day, the temperature will be higher than yesterday, and the wind will be weak, so the cold will be less.

Today, the midday temperature in Seoul is expected to be minus 2 degrees, Andong minus 1 degree, and Gwangju 0 degree.

Sporadic snow continues on the west coast of Honam and Jeju Island in the cold wave.

During the day, snow rain will lull for a while, and strong snow of about 1 to 3cm per hour will be concentrated again from late afternoon to night, and around the west coast of Honam.

In North Jeolla Province, more than 30cm of snow has already fallen, but up to 20cm will fall in the mountains of Jeju and 5~8cm more on the west coast of Chungnam and Honam by the day after tomorrow.

The cold is expected to continue until tomorrow morning, the weekend, before gradually recovering to previous years' temperatures from the daytime.

Meanwhile, the East Coast region, where there is no news of snow rain, has a very dry atmosphere.

As of 10 a.m. today, the Dry Warning has been upgraded to Dry Warning in some areas, so please thoroughly manage embers to prevent fire accidents such as forest fires.
