South Korea and China have reaffirmed their commitment to denuclearize North Korea during high-level security talks held in Seoul Monday.
China's State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with National Security Office chief Kim Jang-soo to discuss a range of issues including North Korea's nuclear program.
Yang, China's top foreign policy maker, said disabling Pyongyang's nuclear program was a key priority along with maintaining peace and stability in the region.
He also met with President Park Geun-hye and delivered President Xi Jinping's message expressing hope for another meeting with Park.
Beijing has been looking for ways to restart Six-Party nuclear talks, but both Seoul and Washington have called on North Korea to meet preconditions before coming to the table.
China and Korea agreed to deepen bilateral ties after President Park visited Beijing in June, with the two countries seeking to strengthen high-level and cultural exchanges in the future.
