50s who hit the entrance door of the military unit with a car...drug investigation to be conducted

Police have arrested a man in his 50s who ran across the parade field after hitting the military entrance with a vehicle in the middle of the night.

The Hwacheon Police Station in Gangwon Province is investigating a 50-year-old man on charges of violating the Military Base and Military Facility Protection Act.

Mr. A is accused of driving his SUV into the entrance of the guardhouse at the back gate of the army artillery unit in Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon-do, at around 10:50 p.m. last night and running 800 meters across the parade field to the main gate.

Mr. A was later caught by the police who were dispatched after causing a stand-alone collision with the guardrail on the road 2km away.

There were no casualties in the unit at the time, but both the front and back gates of the guardhouse were damaged.

It has been confirmed that A, an outsider, is not drunk, and the police have applied for a search warrant for hair and urine against A, who refused to be tested on drugs.
