At around 2 p.m. today (20th), a 70-year-old man who was descending between Namgyo-ri and Eungbong Falls on Seoraksan Mountain in Inje-gun fell into a valley 20m below and was taken to a hospital by helicopter, but died.
Earlier, around noon, near the summit of Birobong Peak on Chiaksan Mountain in Wonju, a 60-something man collapsed due to cardiac arrest and recovered with CPR from the mountain rescue team, and around 7 a.m., a hiker who sprained his ankle at Mt. Seorak Peak in Inje County was taken to a hospital by helicopter.
An official from the fire department said, "Please hike with a hiking course that fits your physical strength and be familiar with the safety rules before hiking."
