Singer Cho Yong-pil revealed why he announced his retirement from broadcasting in the 1990s.
Cho Yong-pil's 20th regular album "20" press conference was held at 4 p.m. today (22nd) at Blue Square Master Card Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
On this day, Cho Yong-pil said, "I was watching a sports game and I got into the feeling of a loser. I've never been satisfied on stage."
Afterwards, he said, "When I listen to the songs I've made now, I think it's pathetic. I'm not putting on airs. I'm angry inside when people around me say, "I think this is enough," he said, expressing his passion for music.
In addition, referring to the retirement press conference in the 1990s, Cho Yong-pil said, "There are no singers who have appeared on the show as much as me. At this rate, I thought I would become a broadcaster, not a singer. I thought about what kind of singer it is that I only play games on the show, so I stopped appearing on the show and focused on the concert. The first year or two was okay, but I had a hard time," he recalled.
Meanwhile, Cho Yong-pil announced the release of his 20th album through "Road to 20 - Prelude 1" in 2022 and "Road to 20 - Prelude 2" in 2023. He is expected to show a variety of musical spectrums across rock, electronica and ballads in this album.
In addition, the title song of this album, "It's Okay," is a song with a warm message of comfort and hope to everyone living in this era. Cho Yong-pil's unique cool vocals and rock sound are outstanding, and dolphin gangsters, famous for their collaboration with New Jeans, participated in the music video production and drew attention.
