Political figures, including Choo Kyung-ho, floor leader of the People's Power, and Park Chan-dae of the Democratic Party of Korea, attended the "Citizen Memorial Conference for the Second Anniversary of the Itaewon Disaster" in front of Seoul Plaza in Jung-gu, Seoul, expressing their condolences and promising support.

Floor leader Choo Kyung-ho said he will do his best to ensure that the special investigation committee, which was launched after the Itaewon disaster special law was passed by agreement between the ruling and opposition parties, will play its role without a hitch, stressing that the National Assembly will have unlimited responsibility to feel that the state exists in all time and space in Korea.

Park Chan-dae, the floor leader, said that there has been no full fact-finding for two years and that the special law has been passed, but the budget and manpower support are a long way off, and that he will allow those responsible to take reasonable responsibility.
