Democratic Party lawmakers strongly criticized the prosecution, arguing that Kim's non-prosecution was unfair. Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung expressed concern about the prosecutor's impeachment, saying, "Attempting to impeach the prosecutor without any special basis just because they investigated a specific case can affect the political neutrality and independence of the prosecution."
