Black votes for U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, who was on alert due to weakening black support, are recovering, according to an analysis. The U.S. weekly Newsweek

analyzed that former President Trump did not get as good a response from black voters as he thought, based on the results of two recent polls.

Howard University, a prestigious black university, conducted a survey of 981 black voters in seven major contending states from the 2nd to the 8th, with Vice President Harris winning 83 percent and former President Trump winning 8 percent, respectively.

This is more than the gap in approval ratings in September, which was 81 percent for Vice President Harris and 12 percent for former President Trump.

In a survey conducted by pollster YouGov on the 8th-11th at the request of CBS, Vice President Harris received 87 percent of the support, far ahead of former President Trump's 12 percent.

In response, Newsweek analyzed, "We found that President Biden received similar support from black voters in 2020."

Vice President Harris was very nervous after a Siena University poll of 589 black voters from the 29th of last month to the 6th showed that 78% of black voters supported Vice President Harris and 15% supported former President Trump.

That was well below the 90% approval rating President Joe Biden received during the 2020 presidential election, prompting warnings that his chances of winning key contenders were at stake.

"The poll seems to overestimate Black support for Trump," Brown University Professor Catherine Tate told Newsweek. "Young Black men are more likely to say they prefer Trump, but they are less likely to register and vote."
