With the U.S. presidential election just three weeks away, former President Trump's rise appears to be narrowing the gap in approval ratings with Vice President Harris.

According to a survey of 2,600 adults conducted by ABC in the U.S., the approval rating of those willing to vote was 50% Harris and 48% Trump, which is within the margin of error of ±2%.

Compared to Harris' 5%p lead in the same survey in mid-September, the gap has narrowed much further, and the election landscape is even more hyper-controversial.

Public opinion by issue such as border issues and abortion rights is also sharply divided.

Public opinion in favor of deportation of illegal immigrants was 56%, up 20% from eight years ago, while 56% said abortion rights abolished by the Supreme Court should be restored.

ABC News reported that Trump's confidence in immigration is 10%p ahead, and Harris' confidence in abortion rights issues is 15%p ahead.

More than double the 23% who said the economy was deteriorating to 59% of the respondents who said it was improving, with 74% of Trump and 21% of Harris among the voters who said the economy was deteriorating.
