While Binggrae owner Kim Dong-hwan, the third-generation president of Binggrae, who was handed over to trial for assaulting a police officer under the influence of alcohol, admitted the charges in court, the prosecution asked Kim to suspend his prison sentence.

At the first hearing on charges of obstruction of justice held at the Seoul Western District Court, Kim's lawyer said he admits all charges.

In his closing statement, President Kim said he only admitted and reflected on the incident and apologized to the affected police officers.

In the midst of this, the prosecution demanded a six-month prison term and a one-year suspended sentence for President Kim.

After the trial, President Kim left the court without answering reporters' questions, including how much alcohol he drank at the time.

Earlier, President Kim was put on trial on June 17 for assaulting a police officer who was called to report a drunken disturbance at an apartment in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

The sentence for President Kim will be issued on the 7th of next month.
