Only one out of ten adults wash their hands properly after going to the toilet.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's hand washing practice rate survey conducted with the International Korean Nursing Foundation, the rate of hand washing after toilet was 76.1%, up from 71.1% last year.

However, the percentage of people who practiced "right hand washing" for more than 30 seconds with soap fell to 10.5%.

The most common reason for not washing your hands after toilet was that 26% of the respondents said they were lazy, and 20.9% said their hands were not too dirty.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention emphasized that after defecation, you should rub your hands with water and soap for more than 30 seconds to make foam, and wash your palms, back of hands, and fingers evenly.
