The Board of Audit and Inspection asked the prosecution to investigate the officials of Gangnam-gu District Office who committed illegal and unfair acts while granting the building permit.

According to the audit report on official corruption released by the Board of Audit and Inspection, Gangnam-gu District held an urban planning committee in August 2020 to vote on the division of the plot, which company A conditionally proposed to donate to the museum.

Then, regarding the building permit for the complex applied by Company A, the floor area ratio was 499.4%, reflecting the incentives for the donation of art galleries.

However, it turned out that Gangnam-gu did not go through procedures such as listening to residents' opinions after receiving a request from Company A to handle the permit through a simple procedure.

The Board of Audit and Inspection also pointed out that the related agenda was not presented to the Seoul Joint Committee, but to the Gangnam-gu Urban Planning Committee, which does not have the authority to deliberate and decide.

The Board of Audit and Inspection detected four public officials in Gangnam-gu who handled their work unfairly, and requested the prosecution to investigate two and sent investigation references to the other two.

The audit also uncovered cases in which officials at the Seoul Metropolitan Facilities Corporation received money and valuables in exchange for arranging participation in the service or condoned unfair subcontracting.
