The U.S. presidential election is on the 5th of next month, so there are only about two weeks left.

In a contested state like Pennsylvania, is black votes leaning toward Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump?

Two recent polls show a recovery for Vice President Harris.

Reporter Hwang Bo-sun reports.

The results of a New York Times-Siena University poll released on the 12th made Vice President Harris very nervous.

It remained at 78% during the 2020 presidential election, far below the 90% black approval rating President Joe Biden received.

The New York Times warned that the emergency lights were on for the possibility of winning key contending states.

A recently released poll showed that the green light came back in for Harris.

According to Howard University's announcement on the 17th local time, 83% of 981 black voters in the contested state chose Vice President Harris and 8% chose former President Trump.

In the September survey by the same Howard University, Harris widened the gap by 81 percent and Trump by 12 percent.

Experts also diagnosed that the earlier poll seemed to overestimate black support for Trump.

[Matt Brown / AP Reporter] Former President Trump has tried to reach out to black leaders or voters, but his approval rating is overwhelmingly low. This is especially true in major contending states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia and North Carolina.]

A survey released by pollster YouGov on the 14th also found that Vice President Harris had an 87% approval rating for black voters, far ahead of former President Trump, who had only 12%.

It looks like President Biden has recovered to a level similar to what he received from black voters back in 2020.
