It has been judged that holding class-specific worship services or choir competitions for all students in general high schools can be seen as a violation of religious freedom.

The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Student Human Rights Education Center recently released the results of a survey on student human rights violations submitted by a private high school student in Seoul.

The center explained that the school held about 22 religious services for all students this year, and held a class worship meeting to praise and pray using class inquiry time and a choir contest involving all students.

However, he pointed out that in this process, the student's intention to participate was not confirmed in advance or given a choice.

The center advised the principal to give students the right to choose to participate in religious subjects and religious activities and not to force certain religious subjects to participate in on-campus competitions.

In response, the school reportedly informed the event-related facts in advance as a mission school, and claimed that it was difficult to manage if each choice was given in group life.
