The South Korean government invited the Russian ambassador to South Korea to protest the North Korean military's dispatch to Russia and urged the North Korean military to withdraw.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said this afternoon that it called Russian Ambassador to South Korea Georgi Zinoviev to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to convey the South Korean government's stern stance on North Korea's recent dispatch of troops to Russia.

Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Hong-kyun met with Ambassador Georgi and pointed out that the current situation, which led to the actual dispatch of troops beyond the movement of military supplies between North Korea and Russia, is a major security threat not only to South Korea but also to the international community.

It also emphasized that it violates the UN Security Council resolutions and the UN Charter, and strongly urged the immediate withdrawal of North Korean troops and the suspension of related cooperation.

At the same time, Vice Minister Kim said he strongly condemned illegal military cooperation between North Korea and Russia and warned that he would respond to actions that threaten our core security interests by using all available means with the international community.
