Overseas Korean businessmen and participants of the event are heading to the dinner hall of the World Korean Business Conference, following a parade in the rain.

This is the first time that the World Korean Business Conference, which began in 2002 and has been held in Jeonbuk for more than 20 years, has been held under the name of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This year's competition is organized in a new form that utilizes local culture and environment rather than staying inside a large convention.Built in the form of

dome, this corporate exhibition hall is the core facility of this competition.

More than 200 companies promote their products and consult export contracts.

Participating companies can also participate in a variety of business activities that will maximize global network opportunities such as one-on-one meetings and consultations.

[Seunghyun Oh / Food processing company official: I think it's a great opportunity to meet CEOs working around the world, so we prepared and participated]

As a master of exchanges between businessmen, the biggest interest is what actual results will come out during the competition.

There were more than 800 requests for meetings received before the competition.

At the same time as the opening, four companies in the Jeonbuk region signed export contracts worth a total of $6 million with companies from four countries, including Mexico.

[Kim Kwan-young / Governor of North Jeolla Province: I think it's a valuable opportunity for businessmen around the world to experience North Jeolla Province, which has the most Korean culture and emotions, at the first World Korean Congress in North Jeolla Province]

The government is preparing a follow-up management plan through the Overseas Koreans' Office so that export discussions that have opened up at the competition can lead to actual contracts.

[Han Deok-soo / Prime Minister: We will do our best to provide institutional support so that we can strengthen our competitiveness by cooperating with Korean companies that wish to enter the global market.]

The World Korean Business Conference, attended by more than 1,000 businessmen from overseas and 2,000 Korean businessmen, will continue for three days until the 24th.
