Gyeonggi-do Province checks 59 disaster risk D and E-rated facilities...194 cases detected

The Gyeonggi provincial government said it conducted a survey of 59 D and E-rated facilities in the province with high risk of disaster from the 25th of last month to the 18th of this month and confirmed 194 points.

The inspection contents include whether safety inspections are conducted in a timely manner in accordance with the Facility Safety Act, the safety status of major structures, and reinforcement of repairs based on the inspection results.

In the case of Maegok Bridge (88m long, two round-trip lanes), Hobeop-myeon, Icheon-si, traffic was restricted as the foundation of the bridge was broken down by Segul (洗掘).

Three row houses in Bucheon, Suwon, and Hwaseong were cracked and transformed to reinforce the underground pillars, beams, and walls.

In addition, cracks and leaks on bridge floor plates, lack of bridge drainage, peeling of balconies and eaves of old houses, and corrosion of rebar were detected.
