U.S. forces move F-16s from Germany to the Middle East...Israel-Iran conflict preparations

The U.S. military has deployed F-16 fighter jets from Germany to the Middle East as tensions in the Middle East have risen over the prospect of an Israeli retaliatory attack on Iran.

"F-16 fighter jets from the 480th Fighter Squadron at the Spangdallem base in Germany have arrived in the jurisdiction of the Central Command," the Central Command, which oversees U.S. forces in the Middle East, said.

The Central Command also released a photo of the F-16 fighter jet on the runway, but did not release the location of the base, the number of mobile fighters, or the mission the fighter had dropped off.

Israel's closest ally, the United States, has recently decided to send 100 operational troops to Israel with the deployment of additional THAAD, or high-altitude missile defense systems.

Earlier on the 1st, Iran fired 200 ballistic missiles at Israel in retaliation for the killing of Palestinian and Lebanese militant leaders, and Israel announced a response to Iran.
