Several loud explosions were heard in and near the Iranian capital, Tehran, Iranian semi-official media reported.

Reuters, citing Iranian media reports, said at least five loud explosions were heard in the capital Tehran and nearby Karaj early on the 26th local time.

Local media said the cause of the explosion has not yet been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Axios, a U.S. online media outlet, reported that Israel has launched a retaliatory airstrike against Iran.
