Singhu/Gangbuja, 'Korea Popular Culture and Arts Award' Honored by the Eungwan Order of Cultural Merit

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yoo In-chon) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (Director Yoo Hyun-seok), will hold the "2024 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards," the most prestigious government award in the field of popular culture and arts, at the Haeoreum Theater of the National Theater on the 31st.

The Popular Culture and Arts Award is designed to encourage the efforts and achievements of popular culture industry workers such as singers, actors, comedians, and voice actors, as well as broadcast writers, directors, and producers, and to increase the social status and creative desire of popular culture artists.

This year, 31 people (team) who have always created the global status of K-content, including the Order of Culture (6 people), Presidential Commendation (7 people), Prime Minister Commendation (8 people), and Culture Minister Commendation (10 people/team) were selected as winners. Candidates were selected through public offerings and expert recommendations, and various matters such as the candidate's handcrafted period, domestic and foreign activity performance, contribution to related industries, and social contribution were comprehensively reviewed.

First of all, Shin-gu and Kang Bu-ja, actors who have impressed the public by crossing various genres such as plays and TV dramas for more than 60 years, were selected for the Eungwan Order of Culture.

The Order of Archive Culture will be awarded to singer Kim Chang-wan, who is active in all fields of popular culture and art, and writer Lim Ki-hong, who has written numerous songs and comedy programs such as "Yoomer No. 1" and "Family Entertainment Hall."

Singer Lee Moon-se was selected for the Okgwan Order of Cultural Merit, and actor Choi Soo-jong, who performed luxury performances in historical dramas such as Taejo Wang Geon and the Goryeo Kitan War, was selected as the winner.

The presidential commendation will be given by guitarist Kim Mok-kyung, actor Yeom Hye-ran, actor Cho Jung-seok, musical actor Hong Kwang-ho, film director Kim Han-min, voice actor Kim Do-hyun, and recording artist Lee Tae-kyung.

The Prime Minister's Commendation will be given by actor Chun Woo-hee, actor Lee Je-hoon, musical actor Choi Jae-rim, singer Jang Ki-ha, voice actor Kim Young, film director Jang Jae-hyun, music director Kim Sung-soo and composer Kenji.

In addition, 10 people (team), including Day6, Silica Gel, and Jannabi, who caused the "band boom" this year, actor Ahn Eun-jin, actor Cha Eun-woo, actor Ko Min-si, comedian Yoon Sung-ho, actor Jung Ho-yeon, and director Jongho Yoon, were honored with the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Commendation Award.
