On social media Instagram, which is serviced by Meta (former Facebook), there are cases in which the accounts of users who share baby's daily life and childcare information are deactivated one after another.
Recently, there have been rumors in various mom cafes that Instagram accounts of mothers raising young babies have disappeared without their knowledge.
In response, some speculated that the artificial intelligence age verification tool introduced by Instagram last year seems to have mistakenly recognized the account operator as under 14 years old and deleted it.
According to the policy, only users over the age of 14 can sign up for Instagram. In March last year, it announced that it would apply an age verification tool using artificial intelligence in Europe, Mexico, Canada, Korea, Australia, and Japan.
As a result, complaints are increasing online, but alternatives are being shared to use parental pictures instead of baby pictures in profiles so that the subject of the account can be clearly recognized as over 14 years old.
