Waltz, the nominee for national security adviser who will take over the security command of the second Trump administration, said he needs to find a reasonable way to end the war in Ukraine.

With the dispatch of North Korean troops, South Korea is also considering intervention, making it clear that it is Trump's will to prevent further escalation.

Mike Waltz, the next White House national security adviser, was interviewed by Fox News.

Referring to the deteriorating situation in the Ukraine war, he pointed out that South Korea is also considering intervention.

[Mike Waltz / National Security Adviser Nominee: Where is the Ukraine escalation going? We are talking about South Korea intervening in some way. Trump has made it clear that the dispute must be ended.]

He pointed out that the recent expansion of Ukraine originated from the dispatch of North Korean troops, but emphasized that it is time to end the war responsibly, not to counteract it.

He made it clear that Trump's intention is to find a specific way to end the war.

[Mike Waltz / National Security Adviser Nominee: We need to discuss who will sit at the negotiating table, whether it will be an end-of-war agreement or a ceasefire, how to put the two sides at the table, how to frame the negotiations.]

After Matt Gates, the nominee for attorney general, was dropped over allegations of underage sex buying, Democrats named Pete Hegseth as the next ineligible.

Seven years ago, there was a dispute over allegations of sexual assault and whether a former major could lead the Ministry of National Defense.

[Tammy Duckworth / Democratic Senator: Hegseth has never commanded a unit. I've never commanded a battalion, a brigade, or a company. He was a platoon leader and all he did was serve at a very low rank in the military.

[Republican Senator Markwayne Mullen] He has not been charged with sexual assault, he has not committed a crime. The police also gave up the indictment. It's unfortunate that dating can lead to lawsuits for anything.]

CNN predicts that Senate-level verification and harsh hearings for Defense Secretary nominee Hegseth will continue.
