The European Parliament has called for South Korea's support for Ukraine, condemning Russia's military cooperation with North Korea.
In a resolution adopted at the plenary session of Strasbourg, France, on the 28th local time, the European Parliament said it was urging the EU and its member states to ask South Korea to shift its position on arms aid to provide significant military resources for Ukraine's defense operations.
The resolution also stressed that enhanced cooperation with the International Criminal Court and other law enforcement agencies should be held accountable for war crimes and violations of international law committed by Russia, and their allies, including North Korea.
In particular, he condemned North Korean troops and Russia's test-fire of new ballistic missiles, pointing to the recent escalation of tensions as a new phase of the war in Ukraine and a threat to the security of the EU as a whole.
He added that he urged the EU and its international partners to step up efforts to hold all perpetrators accountable.
This is the first time the EU has mentioned the legal responsibility of sending North Korea in its official document.
