Korean supersonic fighter jet achieves 1,000 test flights

The domestic supersonic fighter KF-21 "Boramae" has achieved a thousand flights, half of the test flight plan.

The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) said that the KF-21 prototype 4 completed its 1,000th flight over the South Sea yesterday afternoon.

The KF-21 started a new history of domestic fighter jets in July 2022 with the first flight of the first Sije 1, followed by the first supersonic flight in January 2023 and an aerial refueling flight in March this year.

The DAPA said it is cruising to the completion of the system development and electrification in 2026, and will continue to verify the performance and safety of the KF-21.
