While North Korea is trying to demolish the transmission tower wires built by the South in the past to supply power to the Kaesong Industrial Complex, some of the transmission towers have collapsed in our surveillance assets.
The video released by the Ministry of Unification shows that the transmission tower collapsed and the number of people working on it is estimated to fall.
In this regard, the Joint Chiefs of Staff also explained that several transmission towers north of the Gyeongui Line military demarcation line were overturned on the 30th of last month, and that they are closely watching North Korea's trends.
Earlier on the 24th of last month, North Korea removed transmission lines from some transmission towers north of the Gyeongui Line, and the unbalanced transmission towers appear to have collapsed as the transmission lines supporting the transmission towers were cut off.
The transmission facility built by Korea Electric Power Corporation was first connected in 2006 and supplied electricity to the Kaesong Industrial Complex, but the power supply was completely cut off in the wake of North Korea's bombing of the inter-Korean joint liaison office in 2020.
