The judiciary has convened an emergency meeting of court administration officials in connection with the declaration of emergency martial law by President Yoon Suk Yeol.
Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae, Chief Justice of the National Court Administration Chun Dae-yup, Deputy Chief Bae Hyung-won, Chief Executive Officer, and deliberators have gathered since last night to discuss the martial law-related situation.
The meeting seems to be aimed at reviewing regulations related to emergency martial law and establishing future countermeasures.
According to Article 10 of the Martial Law, the military court will be in charge of trials such as failure to comply with the instructions of the commander of the emergency martial law, crimes of civil war and foreign exchange, obstruction of public affairs or public security, and violations of the National Security Law.
As a result, officials of the court administration are reportedly working on transferring the case being heard for the crime to the military court.
According to Article 8 of the Martial Law, the martial law commander will direct and supervise judicial institutions through the head of the court administration.
