Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon expressed his opposition to martial law and that it should be withdrawn over President Yoon Suk Yeol's declaration of emergency martial law.
Mayor Oh said in a statement released at around 0:30 p.m. today (4th) that he will do his best to protect the daily lives of citizens as mayor.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government said Mayor Oh held an emergency executive meeting with the mayor of the administration immediately after the declaration of the emergency decree and asked him to do his best to ensure that there is no change in the daily lives of citizens such as people's livelihood, prices, distribution, and transportation.
Mayor Oh also canceled his overseas business trip to India and Malaysia, which was scheduled from today to the 11th.
