There was a connection failure on social media (SNS) of meta platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.

According to the Internet monitoring site Downdetector on the 11th local time, Facebook and Instagram were down at 12:57 p.m. Eastern time (9:57 a.m. Western time).

Fourteen minutes later, more than 100,000 people had problems using the service on Facebook, and more than 60,000 reports were received on Instagram at the same time.

The service failure also occurred on Meta's other SNSs, Thread, WhatsApp, and Messenger, and the access failure lasted more than three hours.

Meta said on social media X (X·X), "We know that some users are not using the app due to technical problems," adding, "We are working to normalize it as soon as possible."

Meta did not explain the specific cause.
